Nan Truitt is a long time Alaskan. She is a licensed Clinical Psychologist with specialized training in neuropsychology. Dr. Truitt graduated from the University of Alaska with a B.A. in psychology in 2000. She went on to study clinical psychology at Gallaudet University in Washington, D.C. where she received her M.A. in 2004 and her Ph.D. in 2006. While studying at Gallaudet University, Dr. Truitt's training included the study of deaf and other challenged populations and multicultural issues in psychology across the lifespan. Her specialized training in neuropsychology included course work in neuropsychology at Gallaudet and clinical training in the Neuropsychology Department of the D.C.V.A. Medical Center. She received a Neuropsychology Postdoctoral Certificate from Fielding Graduate University in 2008. She currently has offices in Anchorage and Glennallen and is available to travel throughout Alaska as part of her Neuropsychological Rural Outreach Clinic.
Other specialty areas of training and interest include the assessment and treatment for fetal alcohol spectrum disorders and neuropsychological and risk assessments of juveniles who sexually offend using the Abel Assessment for Sexual Interest-2 (AASI-2) and the Abel-Blasingame Assessment System for Individuals with Intellectual Disabilities (ABID).
